Only started reading them about 18 months ago . Thing that got me was how you could see how Rankin was evolving ,as each book went on,with not only his writing skills but the actual stories themselves .

Always got Ken Stott in my head as Rebus when Im reading them .

Same. I never really watched much of the TV series. On my to-do list.

 

EDIT: Yeah, i thought John Hannah played him but wasn't sure. Stott much more believable. Rebus is a shambles of a man/character but sharp as fuck.
