Hewitt a the pies
We could have played Robson for at least a half of yesterdays game if we needed someone to take the ball off defenders and spray decent passes. There are so many things wrong with us at the moment it's hard to single out what needs sorting first. We definitely seem to invite teams onto us and sit ridiculously deep (I initially thought this was down to Jack who likes to sit on the 18 yard line hiding behind other lads who don't mind making a tackle when teams are attacking us) but it's definitely DM tactics!! Ok we tore Hearts to shreds with those tactics in that 1st half at Tynecastle but since then every and I that includes lower league teams have sussed us out but still DM sticks with this "inviting teams to attack us and hit them on the break" style when clearly it's putting our off form defense and casual defensive midfielder under even more pressure. It just sets off this chain reaction where the fans and team mates start getting irritated with each other and before you know it they don't want the ball anymore or just play any pass to get rid of it.There seems to be a lack of urgency in their game at the moment. Just going through the motions. Are the players starting to show a bit of apathy about the tactics which have them constantly under pressure? And as for f*ckin throw ins, we're the only team I know of who are guaranteed to lose possession at a throw in. Never anyone available to receive a quick throw in, it's always a long speculative throw down the line after which 99 times out of 100 we lose possession. Can't see 1 player making an enormous difference until we learn to mix the tactics up a bit.Don't know the answer just having a winge! Hewitt a the pies
Time to close this thread. It's not happening. yeah Burn it. Raze it to the ground. It's a jinxed thread!.............and if we do sort ourselves out and start winning again we could just look at the league table and fixtures and do the Maths in our heads like everyone else!! tup
On our eight game winning run I was confident going into any game that we could & would win. Some of the wins were not really convincing but we done just enough but I was still confident going into them that we could beat anyone in the league.Amazing how quickly that team changed & I went back to worrying that any team in the league can beat us easily. All the teams that have taken points from us (except Celtic cos we just played them) have since been dropping points willy nilly. We are pish again & lacking confidence & starting to look like the Aberdeen team we all got used to over the past couple of decades. Our squad is weak in many ways. Far too many hiders & not enough battlers. Desperately need the January window but I think even second could be beyond us by the time it comes around because I cannot see the current team/squad sorting themselves out any time soon. Won't be long now until we are dependent on just the Scottish cup for any kind of enjoyment for the season.Possibly the biggest pile of rubbish ever published on the internet. Why do you bother? Nobody takes any of this seriously. Save yourself time. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
38 points & one game away from halfway point of the season. If we don't win this weekend it will be hard for us to reach this holy grail of 85 points. Celtic are currently pretty much on target with 42 points & two games until the halfway point but then they finished the season on 92 points last season. (99 the season before) so would have to say that even a tally of 85 for us will likely not be enough. MUST take all remaining 6 points off them though to have ANY chance of running them close. Tord31
hence why it says 9 points above that. 7 or 9 points are both good outcomes and would keep us there or thereabouts Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Heard a good comment last night, from a Hun of all people, that by rights, especially as the Tim's slump is happening before the window, that the famous shouldn't be capable of winning the league. But if Celtic persist with Delia, zonal marking, selling thon Israeli boy, that they're perfectly capable of losing it. Thought it was bang on. For a Hun! Edit: he was quickly telt to shut it and get back to his own division, obviously! Link to comment
Tord31
I think Griffiths is quite key. If he is playing at his best they probably score before 55 mins yesterday. They have no back up for Griffiths so do they sign a new striker? do they play him ahead of Griffiths? hope so. It's still a big ask we are probably wanting at least 4 wins and 1 draw in the five league games before we play Celtic. Start by winning these next two home games and things are looking interesting Link to comment

Performances like the first 65 minutes today are just not good enough if we want to get anywhere near pushing for titles and cups. We need to massively buck up our ideas. COYR Link to comment
