BWG
No concerts allowed (and no loud noise after 9pm), thought that was one of the major economic factors in allowing the development through?Don't think so. It was a nice to have but realistically how many gigs would require Kingsford over the AECC? Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Where are you picking that up Yorston? From what I see stadia usually have a curfew at about 11/11:30pm for music events etc. Even places like murrayfield where the houses are right next to the ground. Would be a mistake to accept some extra restriction to 9pm imo Link to comment
beer gut
No concerts allowed (and no loud noise after 9pm), thought that was one of the major economic factors in allowing the development through? That's what they say now but in a few years when Elton makes a comeback AFC will apply for permission to host it and the council will allow it. Henry
Are you saying only DNA members can use the bar. I have the International DNA does that give me access when I visit the new stadium? I have International DNA membership. Does that mean I will be able to use the bar when I visit the new stadium? Link to comment

Site Sponsor Dom Sullivan Posted April 24, 2018 Site Sponsor Share Posted April 24, 2018 It's a football stadium not a music venue. Besides, once the edifice has been built I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years there's applications to change that condition if demand requires. The important thing is to Get It Built and use it for the intended purpose. Piss off the NIMBYs now when it's built and get an opportunity to piss them off again later when we apply for change of condition. Win, win. Link to comment

V for Vendetta
Maybe they'd need to apply for a licence for exceptional use or whatever each time theres a music event anyway. I've no idea how shit like that gets approved. Link to comment
Donnet
Would be a mistake to accept some extra restriction to 9pm imo AFC offered up the 9pm curfew of the community facilities without being asked. The lawsondale pitches next door, and closer to the Westhill houses, don't have this restriction. As someone has said though, high chance that changes are applied for once it's built and there's a lot less eyes on the whole thing. Link to comment

beer gut
Milne sticking it to the WANKS https://www.afc.co.uk/2018/04/24/development-project-receives-full-planning-approval/ AFC Chairman, Stewart Milne has given the following reaction following the news that the club have now received official planning permission from Aberdeen City Council: “This is yet another piece of good news in our long-running saga to secure badly needed training and community facilities. We are really excited about letting contracts to local companies for the work and getting started on site. Despite claims by the objectors, we will be going ahead as we are confident that our plans have gone through the proper channels and democratic process. “It’s now clear from planning and legal experts that the objectors cannot stop these plans. At best, they could hold them up for a matter of months but ultimately our plans will go ahead. The courts won’t entertain a challenge that is just based on the development being in the Green Belt. The objectors need to argue that the process of permitting the development was flawed and, even in the unlikely event that is upheld, the Club and the Council will simply go through the planning process again, correcting any procedural error and the outcome will be the same. “It’s only right and fair that those donating or making pledges to their cause are fully aware that their money cannot prevent these plans and will simply fund a pointless exercise that will drain Council resources and potentially damage the region’s reputation as a place in which to invest. “Our aim is to work constructively with the local communities to be a good neighbour and to ensure we deliver the best sports facilities for local people and the best training facilities for the Club.” Link to comment

Andy_123
Aye that's a cracking statement. The club must have had their own lawyers already carry out the exercise that the WANKS are trying to fund before coming out with that. Game over for the the WANKS, Betty and ABZ Hun it appears. Edit: Although saying that "The objectors need to argue that the process of permitting the development was flawed and, even in the unlikely event that is upheld, the Club and the Council will simply go through the planning process again, correcting any procedural error and the outcome will be the same" is poorly worded . Nae doubt we'll hear the objectors discussing brown envelopes etc behind the scenes again. Link to comment
Frank Grimes
Wiggy coming out swinging I'm struggling to believe that they've raised £58,000, they need another £12,000 to hold the fucker up No way this decision is getting reversed, what a waste of fucking money if the JR goes ahead Link to comment
Ernie McCracken
Seriously hope that the WANKS continue with their crusade and spend all the money they've collected, leaving the directors open to legal action against them personally for misleading people into giving them cash under false pretences. They can set up as much limited companies as they want but that won't protect them personally if they continue to pull the sort of shit theyre doing. Here is hoping a few disgruntled donors take them to court. Edit: just look at their tweet of 21st April 2018. Anyone reading that would think they are giving money to stop the stadium. sooth_stander
Milne slightly hedging his bets with those comments. Given that AFC will be paying all or a big percentage of the road amendment costs on the A944, will the Council now proceed with that works, which has to happen before any spade is put in the ground? Or will he hold off for the full 90 days statutary period, in the expectation that a JR could delay, or in the very unlikely event scupper, the development? Meaning those road amendments will have been for nothing? He's sounding very bullish, so looks to me like he's going to power ahead. Looking forward to Angus Jamieson coming out with a spiel tonight Link to comment
