Argo75
Could have replaced him or Clarkson with Barron. We needed to win more ball in the 2nd half to try and put them under pressure. They were there for the taking, but we sat to deep again, had shades of Goodwin about it! Link to comment

Tord31
He could have been subbed at 80 mins or whenever it was we made our last sub but it would have been a big call. There is a shout to leave him on the bench on Thursday. Barron and Polvara should come in anyway Link to comment

Correct. Finishing the game with a midfield 3 of Clarkson, Barron and Polvara would have been a big shout. We need another experienced hardworking midfielder to help out. Maybe we should have replaced the one we sold in the summer at the end of pre season training. Link to comment

He was a complete passenger and everyone could see it. If you are playing defensively with 4 in midfield Infront of 5 defenders i don't see how it's a big call to swap out one of the completely ineffectual midfielders. Barron for Shinnie was totally obvious in my opinion. 1 1 Link to comment

Is McGrath not a midfielder? 🤣 We would have finished with 4 midfielders and Duk Infront of them had the correct change been made Link to comment

It was brave in that if we'd lost (like huns last season and paok this season) folk would point to the lack of leadership being more important than fresh legs Link to comment

Anyway the PAOK shambles was a completely different kettle of piss. Link to comment

WesthillWanderersFC
We’ve given him a 3 year contract, which seems generous. I think the loss of Ramadani, who did a similar role to Shinnie, has affected him negatively. It seems like he’s trying to do the job of 2 players and gets gassed early. We don’t have anyone else that comes close to replicating Ramadani. Priority in January has to be a Ramadani replica IMO. Link to comment

Andy_123
He was really poor today. Half a yard off the pace most of the game, his ball control was woeful and his passing not much better. Barron should have been on for him during the second half 2 Link to comment
Willo flood
Terrible today, struggles to play once a week let alone 2/3 times. Can’t believe he got a 3 year deal. Great player on his day but an alternative is needed in January 1 Link to comment
DelMonte
Not sure it’s a fitness issue. The lack of technical ability was shown massively today. He looked as tired as everyone else which is worrying. Link to comment
Rubin
if he wins a header , it doesn't go anywhere & he seems easily tackled Link to comment

Hurts me to say he was to slow today and is brushed off ball to easily He first touch today very poor rarely controlled the ball and always a pace behind To honest needs to be replaced in the summer with a new Shinnie type player Will always have my total respect but it's clear his better playing days are behind him Link to comment

I think you've just defined terrible, in the sense of a midfielder that needs the exact opposite of how you have labelled him, in a very important game. Link to comment

sooth_stander
People saying he was “off the boil” today; how often has he actually been “on it”, since his January return? 1 Link to comment

His stamina levels have definitely declined, although the Ramadani sized hole we inexplicably didn’t fill, has not helped. Technically, he’s never been great, so that’s not changed. His strength was always based on heart, desire, drive & stamina The heart & desire is still there, but he undoubtedly has lost stamina & his “legs are going”, think that’s pretty obvious. aberdeen1970
Despite Shinnie's limitations, which he's always had, you'd struggle to pick a better midfield without him from the current pool. Link to comment
Don Fonte
The fitness work in training is certainly not as at the forefront of Bazza's 'they can run' moniker as you'd think. Shambles. Link to comment
Johnnyred1
I think it's a bit like he really doesn't trust those around him and ends up trying to cover two or three positions but ultimately looks like a man possessed on steroids. Rather have him than not but his lack of skill and poise always shows up at the likes of Hampden and other bigger venues. Link to comment

I think our style asks a lot of our midfielders physically and we're not blessed with athletes in midfield. 1 Link to comment
King Street Loon
Having Shinnie running about like a mad man is not what Shinnie's game should be about now. Needs to know his limitations and be more disciplined. Would him sitting deep and being the midfielder cutting the ball out, spoiling things, passing to those who cam create, not be a better use of him? I suppose its all about tactics and the manager knowing best combinations and hiw to get the best out of the players at his disposal. Link to comment
Granite95
Clearly missing having someone ala ramadani to do the runing around him That attempted pass in the second half to Sokler was simply awful Link to comment
englishred
Will be interesting to see what happens in january regarding the midfield. I fully expect Shinnie to stay obviously but we are in dire need of a Ramadani type in there. Link to comment
