fine-n-dandy
Are any of the reserves showing any signs of challenging for the first team?Doubt it. Even if they are good enough.Hard enough for Anderson to get game time he deserves Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Plenty of youngsters getting chances. McKenna, Ferguson first team regulars. As is Cosgrove, like him or not. Wright, Ross, Anderson all getting minutes. Plus Campbell yesterday. That's 7 players 22 or younger in or around the first team. Whether that is down to poor recruitment or not is another question but no one can deny that young players are now getting opportunities. Link to comment

Especially Anderson when May & Cosgrove have been getting more than they deserve just because McInnes is stubbornly trying to prove they aren't bad signings Link to comment

sooth_stander
Finished 5-0 KillieSuprised the lad Dangana got on our bench at Perth last week, doesn't look anywhere near the required level. Only player who looked half decent for me was no 4, Chessor (Jack, is it?) The rest looked more like our U18 team.Would have throught we'd have given the likes of Deano, Anderson, Forrester, Glesson 45 mins or so each? Link to comment

Betty Swallicks
What, because we don't play first teamers the day before a first team game? No, because they use the reserve set up better than we do..... like I said. 1 Link to comment

Sonoftherock
Forrester should be a staple in that reserve team atm. 100% he needs games... and needs to rebuild his confidence. Link to comment

Will feel he should have bagged a goal but he's been good this season for the reserves and deserved his call into the matchday squad. Morgan Brown was our best player and Jack Mackenzie did well too. He's come on so far in the last 12-18 months. A few of the lads, including Chesser IMO, weren't at the races but you don't really expect (or need) our development squad minus most of their best players (Anderson, Campbell, Mclennan, Roscoe, Seb Ross, Antoniazzi, Harrington) to dominate against a Killie side with 3 or 4 players who have literally hundreds of first team appearances. Will have done the lads today a world of good. There was never going to be any of the first team players involved a day before a first team match. Jesus Christ. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
I’m firmly in the 1st team is everything camp obvs but I wonder if pulling the Hivs game foreword acted against us for this game. I could understand the names you mention getting 45mins on a Monday to then be on the bench for a Wednesday fixture but not the day before ffs. Link to comment

However... Betty might still have a point I think, at times earlier this season we haven't really used the Reserve games to give fringe players some game time. Guys like Forrester, May, Cosgrove, Ball who have been in and out of the starting line up should be getting a bit of time in the reserve team IMO Link to comment
