"Studies from the preclinical phase of the Oxford vaccine found that rhesus macaques that were immunised with the vaccine were protected from serious disease and had no evidence of lung damage. But they still had coronavirus infection in their upper-respiratory tract and virus shedding from their noses. If this is the same with humans, it would suggest that while they will be protected from symptomatic disease, they might still spread the virus"

"Also, if you have been vaccinated, there is a small chance – at least one in twenty – that the vaccine won’t protect you. So even if you have been vaccinated – and full rollout may not be complete till the summer of 2021 – you should still wear a mask, work from home if you can, and practice social distancing. As for good hand hygiene, let’s try to keep that going – viruses, including probably SARS-CoV-2, will always be among us"

Not looking good for back to normal by spring

So taking the vaccine isn't the unselfish act of virtue some would have you believe?

Be a bit better though of that there is no mistake.

Takes as long as it takes. Speeding up the process with the vaccine can only be a good thing I'm sure you agree.

Some might also struggle to accept the findings of a BMJ paper this week which shows that a huge number of those testing positive from the PCR tests are asymptomatic and unlikely to ever get ill from Covid.

This further fuels the positions of the medical health professionals who argue that healthy people below old age should not be vaccinated in the first roll out.

Boris and Nicky know better than some medical type

What is the end we are 'speeding up' to?

I never mentioned an end.

I suppose getting back to some level of normality without the need for lockdowns and closure / restriction of all things enjoyable.

Hopefully the vaccine enables pubs to open freely without having to sell food and we can get back to watching football would be two great things.

None of it?

Pubs will reopen without having to sell food.

Football will be attended by fans again.

Some if not all restrictions will be lifted.

What one of those do you think are "Never gonna happen"?

Life as we knew it in 2019 will never happen again.

We have given too much power to the authorities and it’s not coming back

Don't all the things Boof said happen where you are, B-ry?
