Aberdeen sack Derek McInnes

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't get too excited about what McInnes says

'I am targetting a right sided defender and a striker'

Loans Rogers

Signs Ball

Sells Rooney

'I am targeting a right sided defender and a striker'

Sometimes think McInnes thinks that words have a different meaning to what they mean.

This has got to be McInnes's most incompetent transfer window to date. Running the club like a fkn amateur in this window.

Almost like he has forgoten how to do actual transfer business & is waiting until clubs come to him with loan options

Start season out of Europe & losing 2 of our first 3 league games.

Yeh, I'm sure McInnes is too busy watching love island to sign someone. Probably had loads of texts from agents offering us world class players for next to nothing but he's not bothered replying to them because he's busy trying to get through a box set.

Yeh, that'll be why we haven't signed 14 players like Hearts. Because Levein obviously works harder.

People who say "should have had a plan B" are idiots. Trying to sign a player isn't like football manager. Going to your plan b, or c, or x, doesn't involve a quick google search then an emailed offer. They go through a list of players they've scouted, contact clubs to see if they're available, talk to the agents, then various negotiations begin while that player also gets offers from elsewhere and says things like "I want to think about it", or clubs say they don't want to sell him until we have a replacement, because they don't give a fuck that Aberdeen have Burnley next week.

Who is to say any of these players Hearts have signed are any good? They struggled against a Highland League side last night.

Wtf have Hearts got to do with anything here?

Only you that's bringing them into this.

Us having a shite window & truly shite lead up to our first &biggest game of season has fuck all to do with how other clubs are doing things.

Stop using other clubs (potentially) backfired approach as an excuse for McInnes being inept in this window

Yeah that's what normal clubs do. McInnes fucking bends over and spreads them when English non league sides come calling.

Rooney wanted to go. What's he meant to do - keep an unhappy player and lose out on the transfer fee that's meant to be helping improve the squad?

By "inept" you mean hasn't signed enough players? Hearts therefore are the opposite of that.

Think before having a childish tantrum.

Why are Hearts even IN this conversation?

They are fk all to do with us.

Fair enough if you brought up the Huns or Hibs as we play them sooner rather than later but even then they are pretty irrelevant to what we are doing (or not doing) In our preparation for Burnley.

McInnes is fkn up big time in his preparations for our opening game & was it any other manger doing this he would be getting rightfully slaughtered for it.

Just how late does he have to leave it before YOU personally think.... ok this is a lil bit shit boss

Cannot believe that Hearts signing loads of players (mostly shite hopefully) is being used to defend McInnes not signing anyone lol

Why do you think McInnes "hasn't signed anyone" (ignoring the five players he has signed)?

Do you honestly think he doesn't think we need anyone?

He has a crap budget. He wants to make sure the ones he signs improves the squad. It takes time. Would love them all to have been signed weeks ago before the Burnley game but life isn't always that easy.

He's meant to say "we can't let him go until we have a replacement". It's been pretty Fucking obvious since about January that Rooney was going to have to move on this summer to get regular first team football. If McInnes hasn't anticipated that and hasn't been actively trying to source a replacement then that's a pretty big fuck up on his part.

It's starting to look likely that he's left it too late unless he gets all his signings in before next Wednesday which is still do-able.

Having said that, I'd rather he used the whole window to build a decent squad than saddle us with a lot of shite for the season just to meet the deadline for the first Burnley game.

Time will tell.

Why says he's not been trying to get a replacement? He just hasn't got the guy he wants yet.

He's got the biggest budget he's ever had with us, as he's got shitloads of wages off his books.

The players he's signed may be decent but Devlin was a massive gamble in first place as injury risk so cover was clearly required for his position from the outset.

Ferguson we don't know if he's a first team regular yet or still a future prospect. As such I am not putting too much faith in a kid we signed from Accies quite yet. At least not to put the frightners on Burnley.

Ball is & always will be a squad filler that has had a few good games but becomes a first team regular because McInnes has failed to find what he wants.

Forrester & Gleeson could be great but injuries, niggles, knocks or proper crocks. The doubt is there to justify a bit of worry that we need someone in with the games coming up.

This window to date has been amateur at best. You know it but are trying to gloss it & pretend it hasn't

Just how late does he leave it before you get a lil worried?

Exactly. People worrying too much about the Burnley games and forgetting about the season as a whole.

A week before such a massive opening game & just ten days before league opener v Sevco.

We SHOULD be able to put a decent (expected) first team list out & cover/subs & not have more than half of that consisting of or youth squad or players that are either currently injured or just returned from long term injury (or BOTH)

We are a complete shambles at the moment.

Fkn end up with Tansey coming back 'like a new signing' lol

I'm not disagreeing with you. The squad is down to the bare bones and ideally more players of the right quality should be in at this stage.
