Was'nt good enough for McInnes though.

To be fair, he's only just turned 18. He's potentially just matured physically enough very recently. He hadn't finished a full 90 minutes of first team action until today

For me, he was contender for MOTM, although I though Johnny Hayes just shaded it, but a very good performance.

Interesting to see both he and Gurr ended up playing on the right together with Gurr more advanced. Its a big season for Ramsay

Imagine blaming Mcinnes for not playing a 16 year old regularly

Mcinnes tried to involve him in europa squad years ago but was only 15 so too young so he knew of this quality’s. But it is bizarre that he was never in or around first team after he was old enough. Not as if we had great options after Logan’s form dipped a few years ago. Same can be said for McKenzie, LB has been a problem position for as long as I can remember and we would play players out of position instead of giving McKenzie a chance. He’s now 22 and would 100% of been released had glass not came in. Who knows what he could of been if he was given a run out 3-4 years ago.

Is MacKenzie really as average (or getting less credit) as a few seem to think? Or are some being a little over critical by comparing him to Ramsay who seems to be doing fantastic & a lot better than expected?

Would be a dream if we had to new great FB’s breaking through but chances are we will get one real decent & (hopefully at worst) a reasonable one also.

Willing to give MacKenzie fair time & judgement without comparing him to Ramsay.

Not seeing much of Gurr yet. Surprising after all the raving Glass done about him. No surprise Ramsay keeping him out tbf given what he’s shown so far but can Gurr not play Right mid/wing also? Thought Glass mentioned that. Wonder if he can play LB also to keep MacKenzie on his toes & to definitely prevent need for wasting Hayes back there

Loving that it’s not just a great dead ball delivery he’s got & has shown to have a fantastic foot to put a ball in on run as well. Been so long since we’ve had a player capable of regularly hitting back post area. For all McGinns technique his percentage of beat first man with a corner was truly awful

Fantastic performance. He's looked brilliant in the first three games of the season.

Delighted with how well he's doing.

Mackenzie is looking like he could also be developed in to a player for us.

I was negative in the summer about going with the two young full backs but i think we'll be looking good to do that before too long.
