King Street Loon
Great prospect. Really really impressed with him since Simmie and Sheerin put him in the team. Pleased that he's maintained the good form which means Glass must play him. Makes you wonder what the fuck McInnes was doing thinking about shipping the loon on loan to Atlanta 2 and bringing in the dross like Greg Leigh. Baffling. Link to comment

He's 22 FFS. He's not just suddenly become good. Likely ready two years ago but pathway blocked to accommodate dross like Greg Leigh etc. Ironically Greg Leigh helped fuck the hat ACCA last week. Useless cunt. Link to comment
Dave Bus
Can’t believe Greg Leigh played over this guy. Just shows you how little mcinnes trusted youth. Link to comment
Bournemouth Gee
Absolutely brilliant to see local lads coming through like this. And playing regularly with Consi, Broon ( Ojo) can only help him develop further. Link to comment
Redtaz2
He had a great game coped well with troublesome cross field balls that were getting used plenty , like Ramsay got a bit of treatment from the Icelanders I hope his being substituted was just precautionary Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
At this rate, come summer, both him & Ramsay are definitely going to be getting clubs testing out mettle These pair are fantastic exciting players. Even without us getting used to being so deprived in the FB areas for so long they are stand outs. Being greedy/risky but hopefully a real sign of things to come from Glass rgds blooding young players ? Link to comment
Sonoftherock
When they both appeared on the scene, I thought Ramsay looked the better player and I do still think he's the bigger talent. However, MacKenzie is growing every game. I think it maybe is related to confidence... looks like he believes in himself a bit more, versus when he first came through. Link to comment
ferlaytio
Improves massively every game. Really like the lad. Seems like a down to earth young man also. 1 Link to comment
ollie1903
Said it in a group chat last night, as good as Calvin Ramsey will become, Jack looks like he's been playing there for years. Brilliant. Known him since he was 8 years old and he's never changed. Must be an absolute nightmare to play against. 3 Link to comment
Sheepo
Jack Mackenzie looks like he has been playing there for Years and probably should have been considering the issues we have had at left back. He is solidly built and is getting better game by game with a good run of games and the confidence shown by the manager Link to comment

Genuine question Ollie and one you may not want to answer publicly (understandably) - send me a PM if not. But why do you think McKenzie didnt get a sniff until now? At 22 years of age, he is clearly ready and probably was ready a couple of years ago at least to be given an opportunity. Link to comment
Tommy
He must be delighted to have a manager that has belief in him. He will get better with more games too. Nice to have two full backs who look the part. Link to comment

When Calvin Ramsay got his first start against Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup (?) last season, he was excellent. My only slight concern was that he pulled up with cramp after an hour and had to be subbed. However, that could purely be down to the training regime he underwent at that time compared with now. When Jack MacKenzie started against the filth in the final game of last season, I thought "hud on, we've a cracking player on our hands here". He was very unfortunate with his two own goals that day and the 4-0 scoreline unequivocally flattered the new club. Link to comment

Ramsay will have reached his height growth wise but will still be "filling out" building up muscles. As such, he will still be at a fairly high risk of cramps/tears/strains for a good year or two yet, which is why it's important we don't overplay him. Of the two, I've always said that I believe Ramsay will have by far the higher ceiling career wise. But I'm also certain MacKenzie will prove to be a very good SPL level left back and should be able to hold down that position for us for a good few years. Link to comment

They have both started their careers incredibly well at Aberdeen and they can only improve physically and mentally. Both have no fear and are excellent timers of the tackle, something we have badly lacked in our first team, at fullback, for a long long time. Link to comment
beef_sister
MacKenzie is getting more comfortable game on game and making that position his own, Delighted to see a local lad come through the ranks and not get held back which is pretty clear going by his performances that he was.... 2 young, fearless fullbacks bombing up and down the touchline is fuycking brilliant to watch. We will get exposed in the channels because we're commiting men forward, But i'd rather have that than being bored to tears watching the garbage thats been served up the last 18 months or so.... Watching Aberdeen is enjoyable again and not done through some feeling that you have watch it because it's your team even though you know its going to be fucking brutal Keep it up young een! Andy_123
Funny that McKenzie and Ramsay both appear in the first team squad the instant McInnes leaves, when full back was a questionable area for much of his time in charge. Ramsay would have been too young to be fair, but it's clear MacKenzie should have been involved in the first team long before now. Link to comment

Aye esepcially when we re-signed Leigh instead of giving either MacKenzie or Ngwenya a chance. As many others have said it's good to see so many younger lads being given opportunities in the first team and it's not a 5 mins appearance at the end of the game Link to comment
BonnieDon
Big fan of both Ramsay and McKenzie but I'd say McKenzie is the better of the two at the moment. Ramsay is obviously younger and will only get better however McKenzie has looked really solid since Glass introduced him to the first team. Both good lads/down to earth. The performances of McKenzie and Ojo this season highlight why McInnes was losing the plot. Both a new left and right back were on the majority of fans wish lists at the start of this summers transfer window. Even McLennan is looking starting to show his potential this season. Delighted to have been proven majorly wrong so far. Link to comment
Dynamo
Think he's really starting to come on to a game after a pretty low key start. From keeping it simple and not wanting to make a mistake he seems to be more eager to get forward now. Wasn't sure he would fit the first team at the start of the season but definitely looks like he's up to it now. He's still learning too. Wonder if Mcinnes just didn't see anything in him. Was surprised to read he's 22. Link to comment

Ramsay classier on the ball and has better delivery going forwards McKenzie solid defensively and a tireless worker. Both doing grand in their own way. No need for us to play one off against the other. Link to comment

Tord31
McInnes put Ngwenya ahead of Mackenzie and Lyall Booth. McInnes would 100% have released mackenzie in May and anyone arguing against that is mental. I'm still hoping Ngwenya can come good and we are sorted for two left backs for the next while. 1 Link to comment
Zander1903
seems pretty strange that McInnes wouldn't want to free up some of the budget by playing the youngsters esp if Sheerin thought they were good enough Stubborn Hun Cunt Link to comment
