New Iphone

zig-a-zig-ah

Meant to be released by the end of September - press conference on 12th September...

Sweet, I've been looking for a crippled device that will only sync to designated computers, allows zero expansion, and artificially limits the number of applications available.

Does this mean the geeks that use them will have them out on display even more than the current models.

Was out for a meal last week and a couple across from us were on their iPhones from the moment they came in, paused briefly to order and continued until the food arrived....both Facebook I might add. The lassie took a picture of her food at the start, in the middle then a finale special.

It had nothing to do with me but it ruined my evening and I wanted to follow them home and smother them while they slept.

Anyone who takes a phone out in a restaurant has been dragged up and not brought up. :nono:

Classless society.

burger king was it?

i've only ever got a phone out at fancy restuarants, but some kinds get their phones and cameras out at every available oppertunity.

usually doing one of thiose wacky jumpint photos.

Why even take your phone to a pub or restuarant, imo it's bad manners to be calling or answering when in someone elses company, that's before you even get to the facebook geeks who stare at their phones all night. I never take my phone when i'm out socialising.

We managed fine without mobiles before they were invented, I'd like to see a return of the days when the pub phone rings and half a dozen voices shout they're not here.

As for the new iphone, big fecking deal, it will be the same as the current phone but with one extra fad thrown on it, how often do you see people use the voice recognition thing that was the big plus on the current issue.

Unless you've been living under a server farm for the past few months dayts - subsisting on ethernet cables and waste heat - you're probably aware that the iPhone 5 is likely to be the greatest and bestest iPhone made to date.

Folk who ask what the best phone to get is, are usually gay bottom feeders.

Doesn't matter how many pixels they throw at a phone camera, it will always be worse than a proper camera.

What exciting new features will we have?

A 12MP camera, that still doesn't have any optical zoom or the ability to take any decent photos when it is slightly dull.

A faster processor that makes no difference to the actual performance of the phone because the apps are backwards compatible which means they will run well on ALL of the old iphones.

More pointless voice recognition features? I've yet to actually see anyone using this except for when they are showing anyone who doesn't have an Iphone 4S how great their new feature is.

higher resolution screen - again, it's a mobile device, you'd unlikely see the difference between the 4S and whatever the 5 will have in it because it is too small. If you are that bothered about film quality, you'd watch the movie on something like a tablet or a frigging TV!

A bigger hard drive? Well, How about Apple just allow users to EXPAND the memory themselves...oh wait, that would mean they wouldn't be able to sell fan boys the 16GB then sell them the 32GB one as well later when they realise that 16GB isn't enough for all those massively pointless high resolution images and movies and they need another one!

New design? I doubt it...they all look the same. The iphones interface is an ugly thing with absolutely no customizable features at all, except for the background which gets covered by the apps!

I've owned an iPhone and an SG2, and I doubt i'd ever go back to an iPhone. I don't like the one button controls and the fact that they control what you can and can't do on your own phone, despite charging you a considerable amount MORE than other phones.

Why do you want an "iPod"? There are hundreds of other MP3 players out there that do the same thing, with a lot more ease and are a lot less expensive.

As for a camera, phone cameras are crap.

You'll actually be cheaper buying a camera, a decent non iPod MP3 player and a phone for the price of an iPhone.

I remember that very well.

I've seen a guy do exactly that only for his wife to turn up 15 minutes later and drag the poor sod out.

If you just want a phone, camera and mp3 player then get the cheapest smartphone out. Pick one. Have a gander at it and its price and buy it.

You'll get something that makes phone calls, takes photos and plays music just about anywhere. No need for an S3 or 4S.

If you have to ask if it's better getting an all-rounder or not, then it's better getting an all-rounder for you. Not a snob comment; just the truth. I'm not a serious photographer so for me the level of camera-phones these days means it's good enough for me. Same with music players.

All that said, I'm out of contract now and waiting to see what the next round from Apple and Samsung and HTC brings. My iPhone 4 is 2 and a bit years old and counting and still does the job perfectly for me so it'll either take something stupendous or a phone carrier giving me a great deal on an upgrade for me to get a new phone.

It's Rude anyone sitting in the pub in the company of others and looking at their phones. You'd be as well just staying at home. Think it's seriously sad that people can't come out and socialise with others in person without checking Facebook or whatever. Not against mobile phones but these new ones that connect to the internet are a bad thing imo and I never want to get one

The new trend is to take an iPad with you to restaurants and leave it sitting on the table to try and show off to people that you have an ipad.

Also, seen people using an iPad to take PICTURES of the Olympics and at events....WHY?!?! ffs, you are there to enoy the fucking thing you are going to see, so take a fucking camera and not an iPad.

Clearly they don't realise how much of a dick they look holding up a 11" camera!!
