How Do You Feel About Homosexuals Right To Adopt Children?

Recommended Posts

any more than a child with a physical disability? or a child that's fat? or gawky and smaller than other children his/her age?

People have got no say whatsoever in any of that though. A gay couple make a choice to put a kid at a higher risk of being bullied because they want to have a kid. How's that looking out for the interest of the kid? That's looking out for your own interests and putting your interests before that of the child.

In an ideal world, where there's no prejudice towards gays, I'm all for it. There's plenty of single mums and single dads that do great jobs bringing up children by themselves. Whilst there's there's so much prejudice towards gays, it's just plain right selfish for gays to want to adopt children and they should just do without. Good parenting should be putting the child's interests before your own.

Also if a kid was too suffer from bullying, he might end up resenting his parents when he gets older.

You send your kid to self defence classes, like any responsible parent does. Our loon has a mother and a father, is smart and athletic, is tanned and blonde, looks like a surfer, and is pretty well off. The chances of him being bullied are practically nil. but regardless, he goes to Karate twice a week and will be starting Krav Maga as soon a he's (considered) old enough. You can set your kid up to be bullied, or you can make sure your kid will snap the neck of anyone who decides to pick on him for whatever reason. And there are a million reasons for bullying... gay parents is just one. Weakness is probably the number one reason a kid is bullied. no-one is bullying a kid who can beat the shite out of them, regardless of whether that kid's parents are straight, gay or androgynous.

Not if those parents are smart, caring and proactive.

The biggest problem is that for most people 'parenting' is just something that happens. They don't particularly think ahead, nor seriously consider the child. The reality is that anyone who chooses to be a parent should make that their number one priority. The safety, health and well-being of the child should come before any other priority. A sensible gay couple will make sure their kid is more than capable of dealing with bullies, making bullying a non-issue... bullies who think they'll get their faces kicked in by a kid with gay parents will move on to a weaker kid with heterosexual parents.

That's how bullies operate.

It would be easier if they didn't need to adopt and conceived naturally.

Surely with modern science this isn't far away from being possible. They've invented babies who don't drown when born under water so surely a man/man baby is possible.

I'd also like to think gay men don't want babies just for some deviant stuff and it's because they want to look cool. A bit like those horrible little rat dogs that celebs carry in bags.

Sounds like you've got plenty of experience of being bullied Kelt. Is that why you moved to America?

I moved to America in order to make obscene amounts of cash for the absolute minimum effort.

Sound like you're pouting, is that why you asked :)

Yeah maybe the gay folk are secretly planning to interfere with these bairns they adopt.

Think how stupid the likes of Karl Fletcher would feel when that came out!

He's a selfish cunt. It wouldn't bother him in the slightest. He goes out getting pissed all the time leaving his bairn with strangers anyway.

And what if the kid doesn't want to go to karate/boxing whatever self defence classes? You force him to go??

I would imagine that after the first couple of hidings from ignorant, scummy neds that the kid would be only too happy to go.

I can only say for sure with our own loon, of course, but he was delighted to go. And any time he's feeling lazy or unmotivated we can persuade him of the benefits.

Kids are different though. Some might take a beating and decide they want to stick up for themselves and make sure they can handle themselves whilst some might just cower away. Kids with good parents can end up getting bullied.

School is such a short part of your life and kids these days are more than aware that gay parents are more common place.

Really all the prejudices that most of you have are from a time when people were more narrow minded and backward thinking.

However the rise of gay culture has had a bigger effect on most of you than you think. For example the after shave thread and the hair products thread for example. Products for men are widely used and most of that is a direct result of gay culture. Pink shirts, t-shirts and jumpers are common place on heterosexual men. All of this is down to a general acceptance of gay culture. Even some of the music some of you listen to is gay as fuck and yet you still keep your prejudices going.

I think anyone here who is a parent and wants to perpetuate prejudice then they really should be looking at how they are doing as a parent rather than how someone else might do as a parent simply because of their sexual preference.

Undoubtedly.

As I've said, there are a million reasons kids bully others, even for no reason at all. Simply because kids might get bullied is no reason to not have a kid, or a adopt a kid. To say the kids of gay couple might be bullied is, in light of this, a pretty weak reason to be against gay adoption.
