The Frustration Of The Mcinnes Era So Far

Recommended Posts

Agree to a point but miller was beside himself how dodgy Taylor looked last night even doing the simple things. This is the same guy who virtually won those 8 in a row himself - certainly in the top 3 or 4 contributors - and who hasn't been dropped. Sorry, Something's up.

But yes, there also managerial failings such as our very odd intention to start a game in 2nd gear and expect the opposition to do likewise.

Why try and make more of it though?

Taylor was dodgy last night but he's had dodgy moments throughout his time, yes he was playing better before overall but now he's had a dip in form. There doesn't have to be a dubious reason behind it but if your looking for a major reason why not think where we signed him from? Tranmere Rovers of the Conference in England. He's not Maldini.

Our creative players have been disappointing lately. Mclean, Hayes and McGinn are not doing the simple things right. Our forwards have been indifferent at best since the hearts game with both Rooney and Goodwillie failing to impress. These guys should be given sixty minutes and then be subbed for the likes of Smith, Wright and Ross.

We have also seen some of our defensive players have poor games by their standards. Our centre-backs look out of sorts and seem to be getting in each others way at times. We are making some basic mistakes in defence. In the midfield we lack fight and leadership to pull us through games in adversity. Many of our players look like they still need to be coached through games. They need advised on positional sense, decision-making and given encouragement. Last night we looked like nothing more than eleven premadonnas in a game where County could have scored five or six.

What the manager has to do is recognise then pick his best side. He then should stay loyal to those players. 'Squad rotation' is fanciful given the playing staff at Pittodrie. Parker and Mclaughlin for example have weakened the side and contributed to our downfall. How can they deserve any more first team action?

If there is a problem with morale its about re-instilling the value of hard work over and above everything else so that loyalty to the cause is restored.

COYR.

I am caught between worrying that we are on a downward spiral that will result in bottom 6 misery, an early cup exit and me sinking into an alcohol induced severe depression and untimely death. And, giving myself a shake and believing that our poor run is a blip and our effort level will increase and the wins will return. Us fans are guilty of extrapolating present form into the future so a month ago we were superstars on our way to the title now we are a pile of work shy duffers heading for ignominy. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

If only the wins had been narrow defeats a la caley and most of our losses last season it would be easier to accept.

Shinnie is still class though.

I think the fact that this current poor run of form is being viewed as a crisis is testament to how much McInnes has actually improved us. Not long ago we would've have just accepted this as a standard Aberdeen season and numbed the pain with alcohol.

Our problem is the lack of depth. We don't have the players in the squad to drop people like McGinn or Hayes when they hit a poor patch. We're still that 4 or 5 players away from being serious title challengers. I don't believe for a second that we will finish below 3rd place this season though.

You are the idiot you only come here when we are on a bad run when things are bad.

Where were you when we were on our winning run?

Idiot

I was at the games on our winning run, and our losing run.

Missed Friday as at a wedding.

Where were you? Do you have an opinion or are you just a sound bite?

If you need to post stalk me, check the Hearts thread for some positivity whilst on our winning run.

Highly merited praise, that was a superb first half away performance.

Since then it's gone downhill and I think McInnes (who is the best manager we've had since Fergie) has partly been at fault for with his meddling with the team and the formation.

4 centre backs in a back four is never going to get praise by me I'm afraid.

What do you think of some of the recent selections by our manager?

Pick the best players in their best positions is all I'm looking for, then we should do alright.

McInnes is wobbling now big time.

Selections since the Hibs game aren't a sign of a manager that particularly knows what he's doing, nor do his changes during games give any indication that he knows what the fuck to do about it. Dare I say it, very tombola like........

Pressure getting to him and the players, needs to sort it out and sort it out soon.

I'm with you. We all want our team to win, but when the manager starts overly fucking about with the team and not playing our best players ie. Rooney, then it's bound to upset and unsettle the players, and if I can see that then McInnes surely can. Two more losses out of the next three and his blazer's on a shoogly peg...

Don't give it the kiss of death by putting money on it either will you?

Well, after the Hibs game I've foreseen three losses. I certainly don't want my team to lose but I just seem to sense it. I would certainly hope we beat Motherwell, but then again they only lost 1-0 to Celtic so who knows. I don't know wtf is going on but I feel quite happy betting against our team, simply because they don't look like winning, when they do I'll let you know...

Razor min, the boy's a realist not a fantasist. The way we're going it's not looking good. When and where do you see us winning? I've not lost a penny betting against them in the last three games...sadly.

Fit? He said it was going to turn him into an alcoholic and end up topping himself.

Betting on your own team to lose is as bad as betting on Sevco, or Celtic to win. Profiting from any of those things is just wrong.

Not wrong at all. I don't bet a lot but when I do I'm pretty certain I'm going to win, so what does that tell you about OUR team whom I've supported since 1982? It tells me that I don't think they're going to win and I don't part with my money easily...

Haha, fair do's, he's a wee bit ahead of me, but we are an utter shambles compared to a few weeks ago, no point denying it...far too many folk on here trying to brush it off, and that's just pish. Winners demand very high standards and we just haven't performed, so we may as well admit it and strive for better things.

Still doesn't explain betting against your own team? So when the second goal went in last night you must have been happy cause your pocketing some doh in your hipper.

Some fan that is.
