Na, just make uni worthwhile, imo.

Too many jobs that never needed a degree now do, things like HR, business admin etc. Go back to the tech college for most and keep uni for STEM subjects. I'm not one for nostalgia and things were better back then etc but when it comes to further education it was. People found their level and if they were late developers worked their way up.

Do that and employers almost pay for the colleges and the gov can pay uni for those that will actually contribute when they get their degree

Absolutely agree with this. I'd add "Project Management" to the list of Mickey Mouse "Masters" degrees that have sprung up alongside Media Studies, etc. in recent years. A Project Manager is a position, not a profession and although some methodologies like PRINCE2, Agile, SixSigma, etc. add value to large companies, they are largely vocational/on-the-job learning, not University academic.

To be clear, I'm not denigrating the graduates per se, they are often forced to take such (vastly overpriced) courses to get ahead in their career. The point is, we as a society undervalue skilled trades and vocations and often lead many to think they are a failure without higher education.

Any Hatters in this Question Time audience tonight?

I watched it today and it's clear Salmond is still light years ahead of the playing field, especially Flynn and the careerist clowns that are high up in the SNP today.

I like Flynn, but he should probably resign after that performance. He was murder.

A lot of independence supporters won't agree with me on this and that's fine, broad church and all, but I think the best thing for the movement now is for the SNP to suffer heavy defeats in the GE and 2016 Holyrood. They look tired and out of ideas,  not to mention clueless on how to advance independence. Not only would a term in opposition refocus minds and force a change in direction, with a renewed case for independence, having a Unionist (Labour) party return to power will remind many of just how broken the status quo is. A lot of delusional people think Starmer will be an improvement on the Tories, when in reality he's just a Tory in a red tie, so when the honeymoon period ends after his anointment... Things will get interesting.

What annoyed me the most, is that he absolutely failed to lay a glove on that Tory wife who chastised the SNP for not prioritising things like the NHS... when it has been abundantly clear for years now, to anyone paying enough attention, that the Tories most certainly do NOT prioritise the NHS - in fact, a significant number of them would love to privatise it and sell it off to the highest bidders.

^ I missed it (no tv)

did Flynno shit it because big ole Salmo was holding court?

Flynno has WDIME if he did

I don't watch TV either, but saw it on YouTube the following day. It was clear who the independence supporter on that panel was and it certainly wasn't the careerist chancer Flynn.

I thought he came across like a ranting lunatic. He was definitely in the shadow of the big boss though.

As it was from Aberdeen I decided to watch it and it just reinforced my belief that none of the politicians answer any of the questions and the journalist bloke was the only one speaking common sense.

Just watched the news about the infected blood scandal.

Another fucking Westminster criminal cover-up after the post office chaos, that is going to cost you and me, all of us, hundreds of millions. Maybe even more.

Tories and Labour once again jointly responsible. And yet some cowardly wee cunts in Scotland still desperate to hold on to the Westminster apron.

But oh aye....the ferries, the ferries.
