SheepieBaaBaa
Yeah but again that kind of misses the point.Money spent on players is short term, contracts end. Crap players can be binned.Building and owning your own facilities is a much much longer cost commitment. If we build it and regret it five years later beCause it costs too much we can hardly just kniock it down and move on.I think where you say "misses the point" is precisely where I think it hits the point I.e. investing in facilities attracts better players and allows us to better develop our current and future squad from the youth. Not entirely disagreeing with you, but marquee signings and spending money on players rather than the long term future of the club is Hunnish behaviour. I do take you point and accept it, but just disagree with it at least on some levels. A balance is certainly required but I favour long term. Link to comment

V for Vendetta
Why can't you knock it down? Sounds pretty easy to me like.I suppose you could. But it's not exactly a good use of money. That's all I'm saying. Link to comment

My point is more the flip side where the long term cost commitment can actually be detrimental. This is all purely an academic debate anyway, I've no idea what it costs to run such a facility year on year, only that we have to achieve a balance financially. Link to comment
Dunty
Eh? Phase One budget is 10mil................... there is no indoor facility planned in Phase One.Show me where they say phase one will cost £10m. They might say they've budgeted £10m for the training facilities, but they haven't said they'll be spending £10m all at once. Especially since Milne said they would begin when they had 75% of the money in place. Link to comment

V for Vendetta
That's actually a very good article. Much more examination of what may happen than we usually see. Kinda makes the whole NKS legal action a completely pointless exercise as it in no way stops the stadium project, at best it forces the council to revisit the planning decision again but leaves them to simply make the same decision. Yorston Vasey
Surely for £150k they could build a huge fuck off wall to block the stadium from their view? Paint trees, bushes and wee flowers on it and they won't even know the stadium is there. Link to comment

ABZ RED
There is fuck all that will stop the stadium legally now. Aberdeen's nonsensical economic arguments and guilt tripping won. The question is can '£40m' be raised and what the FUCK do you get for £40m. Link to comment
ABZ RED
Serious question. If it does cost far more, which it simply will have to for what's proposed, and the costs spiral on top of that to £80m, what do we (you and Milne) actually do? Stop building? Crippling debt forever? Link to comment

This bit was interesting. An email seen by the Evening Express sent by one NKS campaigner to another last April details advice it received from an organisation which previously brought a judicial review in another case.In the email, the campaigner said a company could be formed to fight the case and added: “Should the company lose in court then it could be folded so that costs cannot be recovered against it.“The liability is the costs of any unpaid share capacity – and if we keep this capital at £1 per share and only have three shares then our liabilities will be tiny.” If they deliberately fold the company then there could be trouble in store for the directors, does anyone on here know if it is legal?
