Going by the replies from Wigan fans to the post announcing they had let him leave on loan, their fans were pretty pissed off about it. Many felt he should have played a lot more as he generally impressed when he did play.

Have listened to his interview on Redtv.

Seems Shinnie and/or his agent approached Cormack. From there I can only assume that Cormack says to Gunn and Goodwin 'Shinnie wants to come back. Can we afford him in our budget and Jim, do you want him?'.

Both questions should have been no-brainers and here he is back in a red shirt.

It's a massive piece of positive PR for the club and he will improve the XI. Goodwin would've been stupid to turn down the opportunity to have him in his squad.

Regardless of the motives for making the signing the recruitment of Shinnie is a good move and SHOULD make a difference to the team.

The only thing that could affect my optimism is if Goodwin continues his bonkers tactics of late.

That said strengthening the defence remains an absolute must during this window.

But they don't need to post it every day to try and get some kind of reflected glory out of it. 

It's the easiest thing in the world to declare someone shit when they first come in and then claim to be the first to have had that insight later on when it unravels as most appointments do. Takes no effort at all.

I’m not looking for some kind of reflected glory. My opinion on him hasn’t changed since the day he came in the door. I don’t feel good about the fact I’ve been proven right as all I ever want is a successful Aberdeen Football Club.
