My wife told me this on 31st. After the first round of vaccinations, the NHS staff are up in arms about the disregard towards the manufacturer's recommendations. She didn't want the Pfizer one anyway but wasn't allowed to wait for the Oxford one.

Wasn't allowed? Has there been nhs policy saying staff must take it? My pals in ITU's (across varying health boards but mainly NHSG) haven't taken it up

My wife’s a district charge nurse in the community leading the south Ayrshire district nursing teams, she hasn’t as yet been forced into taken it but can only assume she will be made to take it after the hospital and care home staff has had it, as folk don’t end up firstly ill in hospitals, there normally transported to hospitals within there communities,a fact that has been missed out by the people in charge

same mistake the powers that be have overlooked district nurses ppe provision!,most has went to primary care ie (hospitals or care homes)

She retired in the summer but one of her mates was short-staffed so she's doing 2 days a week community/district nursing. They had no option. All the Parkinsons and neurology specialists (her old department) also were forced to take the Pfizer. I guess those dealing with the most vulnerable (elderly) exclusively are the ones some bright bureaucrat decided must get it.

Ah understood. Tough gig that in this climate.

Different regions, different policies (or different supply chains). Whatever, it's the government, bureaucrats and the management that is fucking everything up.

Correct, it’s bureaucrats that haven’t put on a bandage before making decisions on health care, remember as of last year they put social care and nursing under the one umbrella!, so now you have a glorified receptionist telling nurses on how to care for the community!,madness

It's definitely not enforceable that NHS (or any care staff) have to take it. But ex-colleagues are telling me that management are being pretty forceful in their encouragement for them to do so. Some saying they are being told if they don't, they might get re-deployed from acute services to care of the elderly

I’m sure there’s loads of the relatively young, healthy pen pushing bureaucrats in the NHS that will have offered the vaccine ahead of the elderly and at risk populations (non of which in my family been contacted yet).

Fuck knows who's calling the shots or how it's prioritised but my mrs is administrative NHS staff and got her 1st covid jab mid December. In her 40s and no underlying health risks.

Definitely contrary to what they were saying before the roll out.

I don't even know what the rules are. Nor could I care. I know there's a virus. I know to wear a face covering in public places. I know I can't go to the pub. The rest of it, I can't be bothered keeping up with because it changes so often.

Had to double check that I could still go for my walk this evening after I saw folk "covid shamed" for walking in a busy local park. If some twat aimed a camera in the direction of my family and their images were plastered all over social media with the implication they were breaking the law I'd... Probably be bemused and disgruntled.

Walking is still permitted. Phew.

The mixed messages continue and so does the confusion.

Interesting question - did anyone here adhere to all the rules to the letter? I don't know anyone who has.

Did they fuck. As RS say’s apart from nobody knows what they even are let alone cares. If they changed the ridiculous FACTS to COMMON SENSE, folk might actually listen. I’m not giving a fuck anymore more other wearing a mask and social distancing. I wouldn’t be driving across The country to see someone with cancer anyway as I am not a retard. And worse they break all the rules themselves.

Which in practicality, covers the jist of the FACTS message.

Yes but having to open your windows on Christmas Day, and then a lockdown at 12.01, having pubs open but not allowed volume on tv’s it was allowing people to go abroad but they had to quarantine (should’ve have been allowed on travel anyway unless essential)

Nae saying it is an easy job but Boris and Nicola have fucked it up completely, there is a new rule everyday and nobody gives a fuck anymore.

Be a shame if it was bombarded with hoax reports

What are they going to fucking do anyway? Turn up in riot gear because your neighbour has shopped for going to the shops and forgot your mask.

What the fuck would they do if you denied it.

Fair enough if you are having a massive rave in your house but other than that it is pretty much there for folk to be spiteful to folk they don’t like.

Would be unfortunate if everyone accused Ryan Jack.

Think it's aimed at folk having parties, Fridginho.
