What the fuck does a striker coach actually do though?

"Do a goal"

"Do two goals if you can"

"Do three goals, that's even better than two"

"Do a fancy goal, and you'll get retweeted on Twitter"

I can do that, and I wouldn't need to bother fucking off with the English FA every couple of months.

Movements to make in the box

Runs to make out the box

shooting technique

etc etc

He’s a set piece specialist too and organises England’s corner routines & attacking free kicks.

So no, you couldn’t do that.

With Russell coming in, and the way Cormack talked about him, Sheerin must be on his way out. Given the way he spoke before and after the Utd game he knows that himself.

I'm sure he's a nice guy, I've no idea about his coaching ability, but he hardly sounds like someone who would be able to motivate. Could be wrong. A fresh start might be good for him too.

Maybe 'the gaffer' will sort him out with a job once he's employed again.

Hearts coach in 6 months time when Neilson gets his jotters in September, & is replaced by McInnes

We've already established this guy puts his training drill videos on YouTube for free. I can watch them and tell the players what to do. The club might need to spring for a YouTube Premium account because the adverts would get fucking annoying, but yes I absolutely could do that.

100% agree as to value of strikers coach.

Another thing I am pleased about is that Glass, and potentially, Russell will be in post for the last few games of season. Important for them to assess whom should be kept for next season(s) before reinforcements are recruited i.e. a, hopefully, mini Turnbullesk clear out of underachievers / past it / never had it brigade.

Always said their first task should always be to get a team (not necessarily the finished article obvs) for the first serious qualifier we play.  Everything else will follow.

*Edit : just occurred to me that I’m assuming the qualifiers are the same time June July.

Will be an easy job for Russell to decide which strikers should stay beyond the end of the season.

How many strikers do we have here that aren't on loan?

Erm, one. Bruce Anderson and we've offered him a new deal.

OK no problem . See you in July then.

Two thoughts, same time. A crucial element of being a human being.

Your two thoughts contradict each other,  I think your just confused. Stop whining about racism,  it's boring as fuck and you seem to be the only one that cares. There's far worse things happening in the world than wealthy footballers calling each other names.

Heard Ancelotti talking about Calvert Lewin, told him he was taking too many touches of the ball and that Pippo Inzaghi scored about 75% of his goals with 1 touch finishes. He's taken that on board and is now a much better and effective player. Stuff like that I guess.

So we're into John Lambie "tell him he's Pele" territory...

Nae sure why you're not getting the concept of an attacking coach.

Specialist coaching for the attacking players in the team.

Individual training plans for the players to improve skills and fitness

Collective work on attacking movement, interplay, set pieces, closing down as a unit etc.

You'd accept a specialist goalkeeping coach so why not an attacking one?

Have we offered Anderson a new deal?

Haven't read that

I suppose we have to in order to get “training compensation” or whatever they call it, should he decide to go elsewhere.
He might re-sign. Dons fan & new management in place, so he might give it one last go to become a regular.

He’s being contrary for the sake of it.

Someone on here mentioned it the other day. I didn't fact check it mind you.

Inzaghi.
Between him & Arild Stavrum,  they’ll have been caught offside about 10,000 times.

Most of the 13 will go, surely?
At least 10.

I'm sure he cries himself to sleep every night at what might have been...

Inzaghi played as a striker for several Italian clubs, and spent the most notable spells of his club career with Juventus and Milan, winning two UEFA Champions League titles (2003, 2007), and three Serie A titles (1998, 2004, 2011). He is the seventh highest scorer in Italy, with 313 goals scored in official matches. He is currently the fifth-highest goal scorer in European club competitions with 70 goals, behind only Robert Lewandowski, Raúl, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He is also Milan's top international goal scorer in the club's history with 43 goals. He also holds the record for most hat-tricks in Serie A with 10.
