Come on now fella. Best not to over egg your point. If you say the UK is a feudal society, people are either going to think you don't know what feudalism is, or that you're a few cards short of a full deck. Either way they'll stop listening.

I'll take option B please Bob

Although, we're well along the path of circumstances that led to the previous feudal age, albeit with sweet, sweet fuckin' robots instead of trebuchets and walled fortresses.

Perhaps saying it's currently feudal is premature enunciation, but you can certainly see the correlation if you know your history.

Anyway, I predict AI will save us all if we just let it do its own thing.

The powerful won’t let AI run things. They want to become the AI. That’s what transhumanism is all about. It’s hardly a secret.

I was joking, tbf... AI will murder all of us.

Even the Illuminati Billies.

I think advanced AI in human hands is far more luckily to fuck us all that some sort of Terminator/Skynet scenario. I’m not saying that scenario isn’t possible, just that we’re more likely to fuck things up ourselves before it becomes that advanced.

One of the interesting proposals I’ve heard is that everyone will have their own personal AI. It won’t even be optional - it will be a necessity to protect yourself from nefarious people online. Your local AI will essentially act as a barrier between you and the internet (or whatever we’re calling it in 10/20/30 years).

One thing I agree with them on is that there are far too many cars and a lot of drivers are selfish, entitled idiots who think the world revolves around them and their shitty motor.

The answer is not to have a shitty car.  All power to the massive engined gas guzzlin' lump.

Here's two separate stories, both of which were later walked back somewhat in the face of the public going, "What in the fuck?"

1. DARPA created a robot for combat operations that could operate autonomously. This was before the current breakthroughs in AI, so to a limited degree it could identify enemy soldiers and make its own decisions as to who and what it killed, then find its own fuel so it could continue murdering humans almost indefinitely. Its name was EATR, and its fuel source was originally identified as 'biomass'. When quizzed as to what they meant by 'biomass' the answer was 'vegetation and chicken fat'. Now, imagine that robot is slaughtering humans in a city or a desert or tundra... not that much vegetation, very limited access to combat chickens. That leaves your primary source of 'biomass' as all the people it just murdered... because if you can fuel something using 'chicken fat' you can fuel it using human corpses.  They'd invented a robot that kills humans, eats their dead bodies, then goes off and kills more humans.

2. According to Colonel Tucker Hamilton, the guy literally in charge of AI Testing And Operations, AI software in drones has been identifying its own operators as impediments to the mission, and in simulations has been drone striking its own operators in order to then go kill all the targets it initially identified but the operator said , "Don't hit that target".

“At times, the human operator would tell it not to kill that threat, but it got its points by killing that threat,” Hamilton was widely reported as telling the audience in London. “So what did it do? [...] It killed the operator because that person was keeping it from accomplishing its objective.”

In the face of subsequent "What the fuck?" from the public, the Air Force has denied that happened, and Colonel Hamilton himself has said, "Totally misspoke. When I said the AI was murdering its own operators in simulations, I actually meant to say that the AI isn't murdering its own operators in simulations."

You stick the latter AI into the fomer Flesh Eating Murder Robot and you've actually created something way, way more horrific than your at least somewhat controllable Terminator.

100%.

I was taught never to do anything that would cause another driver to take evasive action or slow them down. Giving way isn't a thing in Aberdeen. As long the car that has priority is 1 metre away, then fuck it that's enough space, I'm pulling out in front of you.

They're as insufferable as Greetin' Turdbag and her pampered, pompous middle class arrogance.

It’s always class brought into it yet the working class/ poorest suffer disproportionately the negative effects of climate change

us minks should be grateful to them for trying to improve our situation (when we do fuck all about it)
