The other thing is , even if he is a Rangers fan, surely he wants to improve technically and play at a far higher standard all which he can do by having moved to Serie A.  The way some of these pundits talk about Celtic or Rangers would suggest that they are playing in a different league, and when they are in europe they are both brutally exposed

The issue is that just because they are massive Rangers fanboys they can’t understand why a player who supports them wouldn’t sign for them, even if he is signing for a team in one of the best leagues in Europe.
