I applaud this one. We have a model where we buy young and cheap and sell on for the wonga but we need an imminently competitive team on the field. Can’t always be projects. Sounds like Vinny is impressing in training too.

im not saying I’m optimistic cause that’s just for kids and cunts but my adult nappies will receive less use.

Completely agree. Perhaps the club are realising we need a bit of a balance in our transfer dealings. Someone coming in and doing a decent job for a couple of years without us turning a profit is completely fine

Good post but that would be a shift in sensible transfer dealings from us 😂

I hope this continues

Club policy has always been a balance of experience along with potential transfers. See Ramirez, McGrath, Shinnie,Hayes return .....

Having watched his recent sending off, it's one thing having a bit of aggression but he needs to learn to reign it in when on a booking. Can see him pumped up in the big games. Here's hoping he can be that player that inspires like shinnie. Looks a hard no nonsense type.

He had one previous red card suspension way back in April 2019 and a few suspensions for accumulated yellows over years but we haven't signed a player with disciplinary issues with issues when on a yellow. Just happens that we signed him straight after his second ever red card

Supposedly £300k and a long term deal for a guy that’s almost 33. He better be bloody brilliant to justify all that.

And Pepe has been one of the best players at the euros at what age?    We need some experience in a holding mid role, fair enough re age if he was asked to be a box to box midfielder but I’d far rather have someone who doesn’t want to grab the glory and chase into the opponents box all the time, rather knows his role and dominates the holding midfielder role.  Almost an “enforcer” letting the young ones charge around and create.
