OddJob
Did they win a Grandslam?Rod Laver won all the grand slams and Ivan Lendl won all of them bar Wimbledon. Same as Mats Wilander i think. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Just won his second tournament in a row.... this time the Japan Open. Beat the defending champion, Rafa Nadal, in the final 2-6, 6-3, 6-0. Think he's on court next in the doubles final, playing with his bro! Played very, very well again - finishing the season in great form! Would be great to see him win in London next month! Link to comment

Sonoftherock
6-0 in the final set as well, he's on form no doubt about it Yeah I watched the final set and he was absolutely strolling. Made Nadal look very average. Murray has now won three of the four tournaments he's played in. Unfortunately the one he lost was the US Open. If Murray completes the Asian treble, by winning in Shanghai next, then he'll move up to world number three. Would be the first time Federer has been outside of the top 3 since 2003! Link to comment

Sonoftherock
Nadal has crashed out of Shanghai, leaving Murray as the top ranked remaining player. He plays later on today in the quarter finals. If he can push on and win this tournament he leap frogs Roger Federer. Link to comment
tutankamun
That's Murray just won the Shanghai Masters. Link to comment

Dandyjam
New coach named as Ivan Lendl. Link He might actually start winning slams now. The guy is a winner and one of the greatest players ever. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
This is great news... Lendl lost his first four grand slam finals before making the breakthrough. Hopefully he can inspire Murray to take the next step. I'm heading over to Melbourne, for the Australian open, in a couple of weeks... hopefully I'll be there to see him do it! Link to comment
OddJob
Brilliant stuff, Lendl is a legend Link to comment

StandFree1982
He's finally beaten Djoko. Wrong tournie though. He should have beaten his last time as well. I hope he can take this win and move on from here and push towards top 2 and a grand slam win. First off, win this competition! Link to comment
Sonoftherock
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/17237683 Well don Andy! Mentally this victory is huge! Djokovic hadn't lost out there for three years! Hopefully he can finish the job against Federer later today. The figures for Andys serve were quite brilliant. His returning is the best on tour, so when he serves like that he's nearly impossible to defeat. I read that he and Lendl have been working hard to improve his service - hopefully it's beginning to pay off! I think (and hope) the Australian Open semi against Djokovic was an epiphany for Murray. If he does take out a major this year, I think we will look back to that semi in Melbourne, as the turning point for Murray. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Federer wins 5 and 4. Murray never at the races today - looked pretty flat and served dreadfully. Decent week for him though! The previous two years he's reacted badly to losing in the Australian Open final - but he's been able to regroup quickly. Going to be interesting to see how he does this year on the clay courts. Last season he was probably the most improved clay court player on tour. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Knocked out of Indian Wells at the first hurdle, for the second year in a row! Beaten by Garcia-Lopez, who he's never dropped a set to before! Link to comment
