Following on from the confusion that this was a "tim pub", I found this funeral report today:

Colin’s partner David Hay, 34, read a personal tribute and his sister Diane Christensen told mourners the story of her brother’s life.

The order of service held a collection of photographs of Colin, including some of his baby pictures

The kirk was full as mourners packed inside to say a final farewell to Colin, who lived in Ayr with David.

Finance Secretary John Swinney, Glasgow City Council leader Gordon Matheson and the city’s Lord Provost Sadie Docherty were at the service, along with Clutha owner Alan Crossan and manager Saverio Petri, 48.

The Thornliebank Accordian Band played as the congregation spilled out onto the street to watch Colin’s hearse pull away.

As for who the Thornliebank Accordian Band are:

"" A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY ABOUT THE BAND ""

If you are a true Blue Glasgow Rangers Fan, a Protestant a Loyalist or anything to do with The Protestant Religion then it's almost certain that you have heard of

The Thornlie Boys

Most probably at your supporters ' club annual Dance, player of the year award etc. They compromise of Thomas and David two lads steeped in the Loyalist Protestant tradition from birth and both playing members of

The Thornliebank Accordion Band

"Loyalist Protestant tradition" eh? Wonder what that amounts to? (not much methinks)

(Note there is actually no such thing as the "Protestant religion" as mentioned above - Protestant is a generic term for 10s of 1000s of different types of quasi-christianity, most of them like chalk and cheese.)

Anyway, seems to me the pub had quite a broad clientele!

33,000 Christian sects, of which one is your particular version of over 200 Catholic versions alone.

The odds on you believing in the right version of even your own particular sub-cult is approximately 242 to 1, even assuming that one of the Catholic cults is correct.

If not, then it's 33,000 to 1, assuming the Christian version of the Abrahamic Cults is Correct.

And if the Christian version is incorrect then, given all the other Abrahamic and non-Abrahimic cults, I doubt it's even possible to calculate the odds on you having settled on the correct, non "quasi-religious" cult that gets you a Golden Ticket into the Land of Ring-Dang-Doo when you die.

Ach you are havering pish again min

There is only one Catholic (Universal) Church. Logically, there can only be one universal church - more than one would be obviously be redundant.

And its more like 50,000 different types of protestant, though they are notoriously difficult to count, given how they proliferate.

We cant help it if some of them (eg CofE) like to dress up similar to us and essentially pretend to be something to do with us. Best policy is to politely ignore them.

This is the only logical approach - or I could dress up like you, act similar to you (surly / aggressive etc) and then cast doubt on whether you actually were the real kelt?

Id like to see your face!

There can be only one - just like "Highlander".

the only good thing about religion is the historical significance of it and the consequent stories it has brought us; crusades, henry 8th, burning witches etc

these days its nothing more than hocus pocus mumbo jumbo. and santa of course.

as an aisde the only folk i activley avoid are baptists and methodists.

never trust a religious person who worships in a modern new buil;d church.

Of course, Santa is the lynchpin of the whole affair, though some heretics deny his divinity.

Whats the difference between a baptist and a catholic? A catholic will talk to you in the off-license. BOOM BOOM! (baptists being a cross between protestantism and alcoholics anonymous).

Agreed.
