Out Of Contract

Did anyone on here predict the Forrester signing? We all want new CMs and full backs, do we know if we're scouting anyone?

I've got to admit, a lot of last season's signings were surprises, but the pattern seems to be English lower league also-rans or SPFL players who aren't getting a game. Who fits that category?

It's the equivalent of shopping at TK Maxx. You might find a few decent items, but can never get a full outfit that matches.

Most specifically McInnes likes to target english based players who have played in Scotland.

you wouldn't be surprised if one of these lads turns up at Pittodrie.

Players available (free transfer) in england with a Scottish history:

Joe Ledley - fat chance

Alan Hutton - fat chance

Wes Hoolahan - wouldn't be a surprise

Sol Bamba - wouldn't be a surprise

Ross Wallace - likewise

Glenn Loovens - and again

Filipe Morais

Clayton Donaldson

Shane Ferguson

Matthew Kennedy - we've been in for him before

Adam Hammill

Craig Conway

Nicky Law

AJ Leitch Smith

Clark Robertson

Donervon Daniels

Tope Obadeyi

Lee Martin

Ryan McLaughlin

Giles Coke

Chris Dagnall

And what this tells me is that a strategy of targeting these kind of players is likely to see us signing a load of old pish.

Happily I don't think McInnes strategy is quite that simple (much as I've criticised our scouting). I do think we look beyond these guys from time to time and we have brought plenty to the club that didn't have any spfl experience before.

McInnes didn't really have to 'rebuild' in his second and third seasons like he had to last and this.

Pleased (so far) with the foresight of hoping to keep a young talented squad together (just for the sake of stability alone).

Not sure how a Kenny Miller would fit into that.

We need a shake-up of our strikers, and there's a lot to be said for experience, but I'm not seeing it (unless he could do a job by coming on after 60 -70 minutes for a season).

Wages would be another issue... they'd have to be weighted on performance/bonuses (if possible).

Sol Bamba is under contract until 2020 and on well over 10k a week and was in the championship team of the year so I would say that he would be a major surprise and could be put in the absolutely nae chance group.

What are you pleased with? I've not seen two of them kick a ball and other one just had his knee rebuilt?

No, but fortunately our coaching staff has.

Being pleased (so far) with the ages of our signings and their potential to be in our starting 11 is 'coocoo land material'?

OK... cool.

Aside from your very obvious phallus for younger boys this evening it is clear you are most definitely on Cloud CooCoo Land.
