Raw beef and egg, no thanks.I got taken out by a client to a restaurant in Warsaw, was fucking ridiculous weird. In a old asylum, everyone got Steak Tartare as a starter, must admit I struggled with it. In a complete random turn of events there was some sort of gumball rally going on and a massive party going on at my hotel with Ferrari’s etc parked outside. Ended up getting smashed with Tony Hawkes the skateboarder. Slept in for my flight the next day. Link to comment

styrofoamplates Posted October 9, 2019 Share Posted October 9, 2019 Aye, they go mad for their Filet Americain here in the Netherlands, which is basically raw lean steak, pureed with pepper and an egg and made into a paste that they spread on their toast. Mind you, they also cover their toast in chocolate sprinkles and eat that for breakfast too. I'll stick with my Frosties ta. Link to comment

Not being particularly culinarily aware was surprised by what arrived, but enjoyed it muchly. I'm 33. Steak is rare or medium-rare. Depends on the cut, and where I am ordering it. Link to comment

First time I ordered Steak Tartare (probably only 18 at the time) I did it to impress an ex and had nae clue as to what it actually was thinking it was a steak with a fancy sauce on the side. As the chef began preparing it in front of us I remember wondering where and when he was going to start cooking it and stared in disbelief as he served it up raw on my plate. Thanked him, pretend I knew what it was all about and nervously proceeded to eat a small piece before thankfully loving it! Not something you see on menus these days unfortunately. Link to comment
