One Bieldside resident, who did not want to be named, said the pub’s outdoor marquee had encouraged excessive drinking, a lack of social distancing and excessive late-night noise.

She said: “It’s so loud at night I can’t even sit down to read a book.

“It’s been a huge problem because of the location – this is a residential area and it seems this is all about selling as much alcohol as you can sell.

it’s a pub you fucking gimp

Good point.

I'm not condoning the scenes in the bar but it's understandable that people are excited and are finally being given some hope in their lives.

It appears that positive emotion is now seen as a negative. How dare people smile.

I was in a pub in Dyce on Thursday watching the game and it was exactly the same there at the goal and at full time. People are just trying to enjoy themselves. The pub doesn't help itself though with continually serving shots along with the pints. The youngsters were blootered so the reaction at the end was expected. Could see it coming a mile off.

It probably is as the pub wants cash and folk know they have a limited timescale to drink.

If they just let folk drink normally and ensure social distancing it is safer than folk nailing nips. Similiar thing with football busses, if you were allowed a few cans most folk would be fine , instead folk are nailing  bottles of vodka in Diet Coke bottles and complete chaos.

Have you watched the video on the P&J website of the celebrations at Bieldside Inn - it's utterly pathetic and whoever is responsible for taking it, and then sharing not with the paper, would have made the Gestapo proud.

Basically taken at a distance at the entrance to the car park recording the cheering. Ohh young people having a good time having a bit of enjoyment, let's record this nonsense and report it to the press.

Spiteful decrepit auld bastards.

Not sure that pubs were supposed to be showing live sports outside in tier 2 areas anyway.

Some amount of bed wetting going on over folk celebrating and whilst doing that just enjoying themselves in what is frankly a pretty shite time for everyone.

Some of the shite of FB and twitter is ridiculous. There's a quine on twitter yesterday arguing the current laws in place. She needs to get a life. One of those who thinks she's an AFC super fan as well.

The Broadstraik got a call from the council telling them not to show the game

Exactly. People actually found something to be happy about for once this year while they were freezing their bollocks off keeping the licence trade going and broke the rules for about a minute.

Being blown out of proportion as ever.

Surely the Shire council have misinterpreted the government advice?

City council didn’t tell anyone not to show the game, the police didn’t either and nor did Swinney yesterday.

Dunno mate but spoke with the bar manager on the day and they were told not to show it. Could be the shire has a different policy

Why not?

Because you're not building people's visits to your premises around the full spectacle.

You're booking a table to have a 'main meal' and a pint. The TV just happens to be on. The game was on freeview so pubs didn't even have to advertise the fact that they had a sky TV subscription in their bar.

But that's exactly what it was based around.

Have a look at the videos, everyone watching the football drinking. You see much food on the tables?

No it wasn't. The pub would have been open anyway, would have been taking bookings anyway and would have been showing something on their telly anyway.

The game was on freeview so they could just have easily watched it at home.  But quite rightly, seeing as you can't pop round and see your mate at their house, people saw it as an additional reason to get out of the house and socialise.

If Scotland had been 2-0 down after 20 minutes then nothing would have been said as people would have been nice and quiet and glum at their tables.

The pub didn't need to promote anything as an 'event'. Everybody in the whole country knew if they went out for a pint on Thursday they would be able to see the game.

This ^

Similarly, the videos from the Draft Project went viral within minutes of the goal going in. Assuming it was taken by a patron also watching the game, what on earth were they thinking sharing that video, surely they knew the damage it was going to cause?

The set up at Soul and the Draft Project is actually alright and has the potential to be a successful venture for the owners. Unfortunately a large minority of folk that frequent these places get themselves in such a state and can't follow the rules. The staff/security can't seem to enforce the rules either. Folk going from table to table to see their pals, face coverings not being warn, the household rule being ripped the piss out of etc.

I don't necessarily agree with all the rules but we all have to play the game at the moment. The authorities don't need an excuse to shut these places down again.

Other venue owners in Aberdeen must be fuming. Soul cunts going to get them shut doon again.

The good people of Aberdeen should be boycotting that Tory-owned, wanker-filled, shite excuse for a pub.

The rules may be shite but the venues need to play the game & the ones that do are having the cunt ripped right out them by the ones who don't give a fuck.
