So, so beatable, a few more quid in a slightly higher standard competition and if somehow we finished 3rd in the group we’d drop onto the conference league knock outs anyway

I hadn’t even considered the thought of getting into the Europa league but with a decent draw we have a very good chance.

If the summer recruitment pans out in a way that we can’t call those sides at least ‘beatable’ then we shouldn’t even be bothering this season

I don't disagree but recruitment isnt an exact science and we've no idea what 2/3 of our squad will be.

There's folk on here already talking about finishing 3rd in the europa groups and qualifying for the conference knock out rounds as if it's routine stuff. 

This will be a big step up for us this season and we'll need a much better team and squad than we had last year if we're going to compete.

Yes we will play a team from pot 3 or 4 but a lot of who we may face depends on the results in the Champions League qualifying rounds as some of these teams are League champions and are seeded to drop into the Europa play-off round so there may be a few different names by the time the draw is made

We will be on the wrong end of at least one hammering,  maybe  scrape a lucky win somewhere, draw a couple of games , finish outside the qualifying spots with a negative goal difference, and a few goals scored.

Totally agree. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to being back in Europe next season. 

It's the "we should be beating" stuff that's unhelpful.  Sucks the life out of it before you start.

There is hunners of permutations for opponents. The lists going about are all assuming the favourites win every tie in champions league and europa league qualifying. will look very different by august 7th

I have a vague memory of the DABS getting Winterslag in the UEFA Cup and doing a similar job on them as we did to Waterschei.....maybe the season earlier??
