I can't understand why folk think Jimmy Thelin would be any good. He will not understand Scottish football, the gold fish bowl that comes with the job, or the tactics that hammer thrower clubs use. His tactics are consider direct for Swedish football but this does not mean he can replicate it in Scotland.

When we last appointed a european manager it was 1999 and the internet was still a place where you waited for 7.5 minutes for one fake nude of Carol Volderman to download and social media didn’t exist. The world has turned. Connectivity between clubs, data collection, and the ease with which information travels has increased exponentially.

It’s far more feasible to imagine a well informed foreign coach taking the reins. If knowing Scottish football is the prime remit then let’s get Michael Stewart to pick the next guy. Any manager could come into this job very well informed and will likely be In charge of a mini League of Nations anyway. Any guy needs time. Lots of it. I see no reason why that can’t be a period of familiarizing with the Scottish game too.

I get what you are saying however the new manager will be expected to hit the ground running. The last three managers lasted less than a year. Hence we don't have time for anyone to familiarize themselves with the league. If they had the last 5 to 6 games of this season then I could get the logic a little bit better, but reports are suggesting we may wait until the end of the season.

The media I took it as.

Aye probably that.

Will probably be a good thing as the likes of Micheal Stewart are best ignored from day one as they will already be hounding him out because he ‘doesn’t know the League’ and he isn’t Lennon.

I took the “open & approachable” comment to be towards the media.

Good, fuck the Scottish media, parochial cunts are only interested in Vermin 1 & Vermin 2 anyway.

Hopefully it's that.

Hope for his sake he doesn't pick his nose and have a nervous smirk when he's interviewed

It's fine if he does as long as he isn't trying to come the cunt with the fans and treat us like we're stupid.

They've just replied saying it is towards the media. Says that managers in the top flight were asked to fill out a 5 question questionnaire and he's the only one that refused.

We should make him do a 2 question one.

Question 1: The Huns are....

A - dead

B - dead

C - dead

Question 2: Scottish Sports Journalists are...

A - cunts

B - thick as pig shit

C - hun loving wanksocks

One of the guys who deals with a lot of the footballing operations setup outwith Bernhard Peters (according to their site) is Assistant coach of a Mainz under 16's team - hardly a ringing endorsement.

Think these guys will be good from the standpoint of business and how to putting in a framework but then you still need the people employed at the club to make it happen!

Interesting that the 2 teams outwith Germany in Europe they advertise (Aalborg and Vitesse) were relegated or in relegation!

Yeah your right they will help get the framework of what we want to achieve started and sadly a lot of the people in charge of seeing through that plan are the ones that got us in to the position we are in , the hope would be they have taken on board what this lot have said and are willing to learn

Thelin has literally said no to us already. He will not have changed his mind in that time, especially seeing as one of the key reasons was he didn't want to leave so close to the start of Elfsborg's season and leave them in the lurch. The Allsvenskan is only 1 game in so this is still the case.

The whole "we'll wait till the end of the season if we have to!" thing is because they're having to draw up a new shortlist considering we've been rejected by everyone we've contacted but they don't want to give a definitive timeframe as they've done that twice already and failed twice. Thelin's name is simply to placate us.

Could be he's giving Elfsborg time to find replacement so they don't end up in mess like us but all guesswork. Burns suggesting he knows all 3 on this never-ending shortlist so why doesn't he report unless trying to get in Cormacks good books. Also see he replied to St Mirren fan he "thinks" that they'll not lose Robinson to us. The saga continues

He also effectively said that Rosler and Neil were not on the shortlist either.

Anyones guess who the other two actually are.
