Pudgie
Where from? Lovely watch!eBay. You can still get them from MVMT's site though. I think it comes to £56 for a leather strapped one and free postage which is great as well. 10% off at the mo as well with the code 10SALE Link to comment
AndrewW
It's quite nice - quite similar to one of the Vostok Amphibian I am looking at - though the Russki number will cost me about $90 all up. I had an orange Vostok Amphibian for about or so. Changing the date is stupidly long and complex, crown is purposely wobbly and shit and bezel slides rather than clicks and just feels really cheap. I just really didn't like it. I love my Raketa big zero though which is a great watch for £45 or so. Had to change the strap though as the one it came on was horrendous. Link to comment
donjb
I can't understand the need to buy an expensive watch. There are far better things to spend cash on. Link to comment

donjb
For example? Why blow a thousand or so on something that tells the time when you could go on a quality holiday for same price? Link to comment
Pudgie
Why blow a thousand or so on something that tells the time when you could go on a quality holiday for same price? Why pay an extra £10k on a better house. Think of all the things you could buy for that? Or why not just buy a 10 year old Ford Mondeo to drive about in instead of a newer BMW or a Merc? Quality is the reason. When you wear good quality items, be they clothes or jewellery, you can feel the difference. Now I'm not saying that if you pay £10 instead of £5 for something it'll be double the quality, but when you go into a different bracket you can really tell the difference in quality. Link to comment

Pudgie
A watch tells the time. No need to blow four figures on that.A car only gets you from A to B.A house is only somewhere to store your shite and sleep. Clothes are only to keep you warm and covered. A wedding/engagement ring is only a token piece to symbolise a partnership. A TV's only for watching TV on. Why not have a black and white beast from the 80's if it works? There's discernible difference between good quality and bad quality in everything. Whether it's something that you appreciate or not is a different question, but the difference in quality, and therefore value, is fact. Link to comment
360
The 30 bish watch that someone posted was nice. But that's as far as my budget would go Another point is that I've got skinny wrists despite my deadly fists I'd rather check my phone than pay a four figure bish for a watch Link to comment

How many people who are going around wearing AP, PP, JLC really appreciate the movement though? There is a reason you never see many Grand Seikos going around. People buy expensive watches to show off and not because they believe that there is any inherent quality to it. Link to comment

Bobby Connor
See, this is the advantage of cheap watches. You don't care if it gets lost, scratched or stolen and I could probably replace mine for less than the cost of your repair. Also, can your watch store up to 50 memos 'cos mine can! ;-) Link to comment

I'm just getting the watch fixed in case the folder breaks down. Link to comment
Bobby Connor
Haha! So what's the watch? My old boss had a collection of Brietlings which only encouraged me down the cheap Casio route. "Watch this!" I used to say before banging it off my desk or scraping it across a wall. "£15 quid!" Link to comment

ChutneyLove
Seen a nice Hublot replica in Thailand. Category A fake, so decent quality. Nice chronograph with slow-sweep reset. I knocked the guy down to 2,500 Baht - he started at 6,000. Walked away thinking I could squeeze another 500 off him - he was at his absolute lowest. Never went back. Checked the replica site for the same watch when I got home - 3x the bloody price - should have just bought it. Link to comment
reekie_dock
Aye the Hublots smart as fuck, apparently Fergie and Roy Hodgson are both sponsored by them jammy cunts like! Free watches for everyone!!! Link to comment
