Afc Store Launch/adidas

Recommended Posts

I would have queued up but was in a rush to get somewhere so will just nip in when its not so busy.

Heard from a workmate this morning that last week it was literally queued out the door and instead of folk working on past closing time they shut the door on folk who were queued outside and were told to come back another day ??? Any truth in that ??

Youd think the club would be doing everything they could for the extra £££'s. Heard there was alot of disgruntled punters.

Said before preferably on Union Street, but one of the units in the shopping centres would be ideal too i suppose.

Doubt the store would do the turnover required to break even in a more expensive unit.

Unless the store was made into a hybrid/concept store selling other types of merchandise using the clubs brand name...but very few of the major clubs have megastores in prominent retail locations.

Eh? Celtic have a clubshop on Argyle Street, Hearts one in the St James (or whatever it's called) shopping centre just off of Princes Street. That's two i can think off the top of my head.

Who is mentioning Megastore? A simple outlet is fine. One where folk can purchase tickets also.

Given the amount of empty outlets, and the incentives being offered to prospective landlords, I don't believe for a moment the club couldn't afford to open a city centre outlet, or would lose money by doing so. Small shop on union street / trinity centre would be just the job, and As k9 says above could act as an outlet in the centre for selling tickets also ( surely this will become even more necessary when the stadium moves?)

Nor having a city centre outlet is a false economy and typical of the lack if ambition which has been chipping away at our fan base for last few years.

Actually I meant to say, we went down for the launch last Wednesday, we got there at 5 and still had to Q, however, hats off to the club for giving out AFC water bottles and AFC mini fitbas to the kids waiting to get into the shop, credit where its due.

I think that the main part of the problem is when you are buying anything from the shop they are asking for database details...I know for a fact that was causing the queues on Wednesday, I kinda thought that because it was only for ST holders they were updating the database, but they were still doing it on Saturday morning when i went down

A week after the start of the season. Wtf is that all about?

It is strange, strange enought to be a deliberate decision - perhaps they want to focus on shifting the home top first for some reason?

I gather its just the swansea home top - would have looked way cooler with red stripes, but there you go - whoever makes these decisions at AFC doesn't have a clue when it comes to apparel.

Why must you go on a 'database' in order to purchase a f**king Aberdeen strip?

Little wonder they sell f**k all in the club shop, clowns, stick your database up your arse, I'll go without the strip thanks.

Do you think all these fat cretins cutting about in hun tops were databased before purchase?

They should have been, in order to round them up and exterminate them, but that's a separate argument.

It's fundamentally wrong that the club must have your personal details to purchase merchandise.

Tup min.............can you imagine the chaos in the shop on the first day of the season if they need to check the database for every f**king sale!! They are gonna lose a load of business if they do cos people winna stand in massive queues on a matchday!!

I canna see any reason why you need to be on the database to purchase merchandise!!

Exactly. There is no good reason.

Angus the Bull mug with your pocket money sonny? I'm afraid not, you're not 18, and we cannot legally hold your details on file, now awa ye go min, come back when you're old enough. By which time of course, you will not be wanting an Angus the f**king Bull mug.

So, the question is, who made this decision?

Are they paid by AFC, from our pockets? If so, what the hell are they playing at?

I tried to buy tickets cash in the ticket office last season, on a Friday, and was asked for my details. I declined to provide them, even though I'm on the database, as principle.

Answers please, AFC.

Do they do such a thing? I want one for my work. My ECWC one is a bit stained. Been using it for 28 years like
