ollie1903
Was at the 20's game v Loco's this afternoon. Shankland had the demeanour of a player that knows he's on the way out. He also missed 3 very decent chances and a penalty. Nowhere near good enough to break into the first team. Link to comment

BWG
It's been clear for ages that Shankland isn't good enough. He's had his chances and hasn't taken them. He's slow, a suspect finisher and looks fairly unfit to be honest. I wish him all the best for his future, but his future isn't at AFC. Link to comment
The_Next_Legend
Thing with shankland is he is only good at goal scoring, he doesn't have any of the other attributes to his game which makes him viable like Rooney is, which is a shame as he did show promise but he just isn't going to cut it. He can obviously score goals, some of the goals at u20 level and on loan at St Mirren were superb but it seems thats all he can do. Unless we have an abundance of crosses going into the box/creative play in behind/wide of him he won't cut it out for us. Heard the new defender Roscoe i think?? played well. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Apparently four clubs after Shankland. Not sure if all are loan deals or if anyone wants him permanently. You were touting him as a starter the other day too! Carrying on that he'd deserved it more than others! Link to comment

We'd have won in Luxembourg had he played. Anyway, our loss is St Mirren's game. Fully expect them to win the Scottish Cup. Link to comment
Guest RosemountRed
Any more news on Pawlett's potential move? Link to comment
northernlights
Pawlett is not without value to the squad, especially since he can play in several different positions. I think Mclean and Burns will be vying for the attacking midfielder position ahead of him now though. Its even possible Niall could play there with either Storey or Burns wide right. We also have guys like Wright and Ross breaking through. If it frees up money to improve our midfield/central defence it seems like a logical move. COYR. Link to comment
CalgaryDon
If we are in the market for another player (ideally that commanding Defensive Mid we are crying out for) then I imagine Pawlett will be moved on - be that a loan deal to Hibs. Much like Cammy Smith - he needs game time. The progression the team has made, players such as Smith, Pawlett and Flood are struggling to get a game - it's sign we are moving in the right direction. Mr John
Fat lot of good it seems to do them. Aye, it would be good to sit down and look at: a) how many youth players get through to the first teamb) how many of them end up being regular squad/first team playersc) what level they end up at if they leave get an idea of how effective our youth set up is. Celtic have had a couple come through and play first team football recently, Dundee and United too for example. Be interesting to see where promising youngsters are coming from, seeing as our national team supposedly picks the best players, but they all come from either the Old Firm, or England's top two leagues. King Street Loon
Won't be missed.A good 4-6 months leading up to the League Cup Final, Pawlett has been a huge disappointment. All the best pee paw. Link to comment
Ernie McCracken
Fair enough. No point sitting hoping he comes good again. That said, we are gonna be seriously light in midfield if this happens. McInnes better actually have someone who has Agreed to sign. Dinnae want another tansey like shambles, when we let quinn go and brought no-one in. Link to comment

Auto correct.SIGNING for St Johnstone.Mate reckons this happening tomorrow. If so, a good move for the Dons. Done nothing since before the League Cup final. As stated elsewhere, need to ensure that we don't just free up a wage and not bring anyone else in. Need to use the Flood, Smith, Shankland etc wages and bring in a hardy fucker into midfield or CB (preferably both!). Link to comment

We don't need anyone from either of those sides. 2 Link to comment
