TwoStars
Lazy signing. Apparently refuses to play any U20s games. Rogers must be scratching his heed. Link to comment
a don in oz
As long as he's on fifty quid a week I don't care. That's all he's on right? Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
weaver is adequate cover for Langers, a new keeper has to be priority along with a striker come the end of the season Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
It makes sense. From now until transfer window opens up again, chance to recruit a new keeper. Why do it now when other positions in this window are more of a priority. We're sitting second in the league and in with a shout of a cup, who are we to argue with an actual football manager, not someone who played Championship Manager in 1997 once. Weaver is easy choice - from now until Summer I imagine we'll be trying to source a keeper who is better than Langfield, Rodgers will be the future keeper I imagine (and hope). No point wasting time in January when a full back and striker are required over a keeper, as much as I do want rid of Langfield, wait until Summer when we see who is leaving and freeing up moneysssssss. spot on Link to comment

True to some degree. FB and striker are staring him in the face as weak links that needs to be adressed. Good signing or lazy signing. Why cant Rogers be back up to Langfield? Link to comment
TwoStars
Rodgers is on loan at Airdrie to get exposure to first team football. No point throwing him in right now when he has had no exposure to first team football barring in the Under 20 league. Clearly sending him out on loan is how he is going to be the future Aberdeen keeper (or back up next season to hopefully a new keeper coming in). Weaver will be on peanuts, it's not holding us back signing him until the end of the season. Rodgers will probably have learnt a good bit from him also. Weaver was one of the best young keepers in England at one point in his career when he was with Man City...he'll have passed on some good information to Rodgers I reckon. Weaver goalkeeper coach, ditch Leighton? Think your missing the fact he's absolutely gash. Link to comment
oilcat
Funnily enough that rumour is doing the rounds...Leighton out at the end of the season and Weaver in as new GK coach Link to comment
The Boofon
Think your missing the fact he's absolutely gash.No he isn't. Man City's greatest ever goalie statistically. Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
Weaver as Roberto pointed out was a very good keeper, he has bags of top flight experience that can only be good for our younger players and defenders, he seems to be happy as our no2, dont be suprised if we see him on a years contract at the end of this season, experience at any level of the game is vital for such a young squad. TwoStars
Nowadays? Slow...hence my suggestion for goalkeeping coach instead of Leighton. How old are you, matter of interest? I remember Weaver as a young keeper at Man City and at the time he was one of the best young British keepers coming through. He was immense, so quick off his line and had no fear. Nowadays as an older player, he's lost that - but think he would give a lot as a GK coach. Did you play Championship Manager once and sign a goalkeeper in January and now this makes you an expert on what McInnes should do...a manager who has us 2nd in the league and has us proud of our team, well I certainly am even if other Aberdeen fans will find time to moan. Slowly but surely things are fitting in place with McInnes. Summer transfer window to kick on will be the telling window. Sit tight, stop moaning. No moaning going on here big fella. Merely pointing out it was a lazy signing. Link to comment

Henry
I too will take a complete and utter guess and state that Weaver will be a good coach, based on nothing more than the fact that he was alright at Man City more than a decade ago. Link to comment

Yeah cos if we go by the standard of keeper they were for judging them on their coaching abilities, then Jimbo should be fkn awesome as a coach but strangely he's SHITE Link to comment
Redstar
Weaver originally only signed a six month deal. Hope they haven't extended in on the quiet but surly Clangers would be bleating on about it on his twitter if he had.The usual "i'm delighted for my mate Nicky for getting his deal extended" when he really means "that's me secured as No.1 for the rest of season at least yet again"Close FnD from his Twatter..."Delighted that Weaves has signed on @AberdeenFC until end of season!! Top man and great GK who I'm learning a lot from!! "Good old Weaves! Link to comment
