VAR in the SPFL

Great post , this is exactly the problem , we are so backwards its unreal.  We don't even have goal line tech either most other leagues had this years ago.  When you hear stuff like this is it any wonder we are so far behind on a footballing front.   We could do with a new Chief Ex who could come in with a forward thinking and productive ideas rather than Doncaster and his bullshit about meaningless games and backing down to sky for 4 of games a season.

It's not the problem. We don't need 24 cameras to see the fuck ups the officials are making every week. The Curtis Main one really is abysmal, there's absolutely no excuse.

Considine is a definite handball but at least you could (if you've got a brass neck) say he was being fouled

All these ‘handball’ penalties at the weekend were ridiculous.
Had ex ref on bbc VAR judgement opinions thing saying they were all correct decisions going by the rules & that we all need to accept these are the rules & change how we view VAR. even if it bounces off your knee etc. onto your hand it’s basically a penalty now.

Wonder how the cunt would view all the handballs Sevco have gotten away with under these rules? Must be about half a dozen ffs.

It was Stuart Dougal.

A hun season ticket holder & ex-ref

He’s a cheerleader for the referees.

He’ll always weasel his way in to some pathetic excuse to stick up for the referee & SFA.

Utterly pointless programme as there’s never anything contrary against the referees.

Would like to have heard his opinions on the numerous clear handballs the Huns have escaped this season. Pretty sure I’m not exaggerating in saying they have had at least half a dozen

Correct. It is a fucking farce the whole VAR thing in the first place but I called it that the Huns would definitely benefit. Corrupt as fuck.

The fucking cunt had the brass neck to say Mains dive to win a penalty against Dundee Utd was the correct decision.

That was the only time I’ve seen that programme and it will also be the last

Here's the thing, if VAR is being flouted by the authorities to benefit the cheeks then it's up to the clubs to demand independent adjudicators who aren't part of what we know to be a corrupt apparatus.

But they don't. Same way they say not a fucking word about clearly corrupt referees.

Because they're nutless.

Our clubs get what they deserve.

The one I had the biggest problem with was the handball by Livingston against St Mirren.  Yes the Livvie boys hands are up (cue Stuart Dougal - correct decision blah blah) but so too are Curtis Main’s.  I’d venture further and say if the defender doesn’t raise his arms he’s getting Curtis’ elbow off his napper.

Seemed harsh is all I’m saying.

The current handball rules are a farce.  It's been a mess all season and during the World Cup.

The new rules are supposed to remove ambiguity because the concept of "deliberate handball" is subjective, but now even the most obvious ball-to-hand incidents are being given as penalties which probably wouldn't even be given as a foul if it happened in the middle of the pitch.  There's still an element of subjectivity with all the "unnatural arm  position" nonsense.  Just put it back the way it was.  Fuck knows how amateur games or even kids in the park are supposed to know what the rules are these days.

Would love to know what the table would look like/how many penalty goals would be chalked off this season if the old rules were applied.

We are a backward country in many ways, not just football.

Quite sad really considering how inventive we were.

It’s the handball rule i dislike the most. Almost impossible to jump with your hand by your sides. It’s not just Scotland though. The penalty award for England v Italy a couple of weeks ago was pish; the ball hardly deviated.
I suppose it takes away the ambiguity if it is a penalty for handball (unless you’re Connor Goldson). But it’s a shit rule.

First, and last, time I've watched this garbage.

Dougal was an embarrassing apologist for Huns with whistles and, for fucks sake, why does Lamont get on the box with that ridiculous effort of a hair bun?

BBC Scotland Sport is a truly humongous waste of time.

Just read another article saying the SFA might take away sky's right to listen in on VAR.  The whole thing sounds more and more corrupt by the minute.  Next things they'll be saying "give offside against non old firm team to keep title race alive"

That would impact everyone, as the old firm don't exist.
