Just now I'm reading 'Lost at Sea' by Jon Ronson, it's good.

Approximately half way through, so far it's pretty much as you would expect, if you're a freemason you'll get on in the police alright etc, TBH I'm hoping the second half picks up a bit.

 

It was also written in 1980 or so, didn't realise that before I started it.

I know plenty about the handshakers anyway, their influence is everywhere around in Scottish society, but I'd like to see how the quintessential 1980 handshaker compares to the offshore Hollywood welders of today.

Just about finished "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". A pretty good read if you are in for the long haul. If you like war history, you've probably already read it, if you haven't then put it on your to read list.

One of the classics... if anyone is going to see the film "The Great Gatsby" I'd recommend reading the novel first.<br /><br />

Have recently read a couple of Carl Hiassen books (fantastic), The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and a book about someone who hitch-hiked round New Zealand.
